Manal Rostom is a woman who pushes the boundaries within athletics & society.

Manal is Egypt’s most prominent marathon runner & mountaineer, and has achieved many firsts for Arab & Egyptian women.

She is also a major women’s rights activist and founder of “Surviving Hijab”, an online community for hijabi women all across the world to celebrate their achievements and share their struggles.

Manal is an incredible athlete who is undeniably fuelled by ambition (for herself and others), so we were honoured to sit down with her for a few minutes to hear her story.

Discover how she made the life-altering decision to leave a dependable career as a pharmacist to pursue her dreams of climbing mountains, and the adversity she has had to face and overcome along the way. She is a true inspiration to anyone striving to pursue their dreams, regardless of society’s expectations.
